A classic country pub, my absolute favourite place to be, especially on the weekend! Amazing decor, incredible food and out of this world cocktails! What more could you ask for? I always feel at home at places like this and they feel so cosy. I’ve been to Ye Olde Saracen’s Head quite a few times and it is somewhere I will always continue to go. I am 100% booking to go there for my birthday! They recently had been developing their menu and introducing some new things, they kindly invited me to come and try it and I jumped at the chance. Scott and I, used this as the perfect chance to have a date night away from the kids.
We both went for the same starter which was, the Red Wine Glazed Beef Brisket which was in a Yorkshire pudding with Dijon mustard cream and pickled onion. Honestly never had a starter like it but it was sooo good! Yorkshire pudding for a starter?! Genius!!
My main I slightly altered, I had the Pan-Roasted Pork Collar with creamed mash and buttered kale. It comes with a wholegrain mustard sauce which I swapped for gravy. Again it was incredible and everything was cooked to perfection.
Now, THE COCKTAIL! Oh my gosh, I was in love! I want to go back just for that. I had the White Chocolate Flat White Martini. Honestly one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. I plan on booking to go back for my birthday just to have that cocktail again!
It is based in Balsall Common so if you are close by you need to visit. Highly recommend this place to everyone and can’t wait to go back!
