It’s October finally and the start of the holiday season, Halloween, bonfire night and Christmas. So many wonderful things coming up, although I do have my issues with bonfire night. (I just don’t think fireworks should be sold to anyone, only if you are doing a show/event). It brings a lot of joy, wonder and happy little faces but the holidays also bring a lot of stress. This year I’m going to take a step back, enjoy everything and make the most of what I can. I don’t want this year to be stuck in the house bored after the lockdown last year. Life is for living! That’s exactly what I plan to do.
//01 Christmas Preparations Are Under Way!
There have been times where I’ve left Christmas shopping until the last minute and let me tell you the stress it brings is just not needed! One of my favourite things is that they have started bringing out all the Christmas stuff and toy sales a lot earlier this year. So people who are budgeting have a longer time to prepare and stock up. I’ve managed to get a good chunk of Lily and Felix’s Christmas presents and I feel all the happier and relaxed for it!
//02 My Journey Back To Dairy
I am a carnivore, I love meat and dairy but I am a lot more conscious of what kind of meat I buy and have reduced how much I have. I love vegan food and I hate labels so I just keep myself happy and healthy. In the last few years I’ve become lactose intolerant and for someone who has had and enjoyed dairy their whole life to suddenly not be able to have what you enjoy without being in pain is worse than never having it. Oat milk is great but the vegan cheese and chocolate could never cut it. They were good and curved the craving a bit but nothing like the real thing. After I gave birth to Felix my IBS disappeared and I slowly was able to have bits of dairy again. I’ve been increasing and introducing more and more and I’m no longer affected by it. It’s incredible! I had a proper cheese pizza for the first time in years and I can tell you I thoroughly enjoyed it! I will still have vegan things and oat milk but it’s going to be so nice not to have to check for ingredients or miss out on things I used to enjoy.
//03 Date Nights Are Back
After a baby, it can be hard to get back to quality time with your other half. Babies are very demanding and not everyone has great support and help. We have great help that allows us to have that quality time. It’s natural to want to be with your baby 24/7 but your relationship needs love and attention too. So I’m very much enjoying date nights again. We went to Metropolis which is a new restaurant in Coventry (also one of my social media clients) the food is great and the last time we went I opted for a burger which I’m don’t normally one to go for but it sounded delicious. It really was but I couldn’t finish it all, the portions are huge! But that’s a good thing. You get your money’s worth for sure!
//04 Park Trips
It’s a very cliche family thing but I just love taking Lily to the park and lately we have been venturing a bit further and the parks are lovely. We have found 2 which are our new favourites, no graffiti anywhere, no cigarette butts on the floor and nothing that is going to put my babies in danger. Not to mention a lovely little place to grab a coffee or the most perfect hot chocolate with toasted marshmallows.
//05 You lot!
Last but not least, one of my favourite things is you guys. The fact that you read my ramblings, support me on my Instagram and for some reason find what I do interesting gives me a lot of opportunities and things in life that I wouldn’t be able to experience otherwise, so hats off to you! Sharing the love and positive vibes today.
But finally, I’m back baby! I have lots of content planned and I am determined to take my blog to the next level!
