During lockdown I’ve really started looking after myself and my skin better in different ways. One reason is I have more time but also because with everything going on it shows how important your health is in every way. Your heart, your skin and basically every part of you. We need to nurture ourselves, feed it good things, use products that are good for us. It also forms good habits to then pass on to your little ones. With that said I treated myself to a few bits and also got sent some things which I am loving at the moment so I thought I would share.
I hate to admit I’ve been using baby wipes as make up removers for a while (mum life problems) but I know I needed to stop that. I picked up the Garnier micellar water which I used to use all the time. They now have an oil based version which is perfect for me as I have really dry skin. I also have been using Garnier skin active ultra lift day cream and night cream. Some people say it is a bit early to be using cream to fight wrinkles and stuff but its more about a preventative than a cure. Keep your skin nourished and full of the things it needs to look and feel firmer and younger. There are a few cheeky wrinkles that appear when I laugh and smile. Theres no harm in it anyway. The other Garnier product I picked up was the hair food banana cream, you can use it in 3 different ways which I think is amazing, but I use it mainly as a conditioner or on occasion a leave in conditioner. Since I took the plunge a few years ago and was blonde for a bit my hair has been certainly on the dry and brittle side but it is improving and conditioning is certainly a contributor to that. I will be started the curly girl method properly soon. Have you tried it? What did you think?
I was kindly sent this CBD Oil from Synerva (Gifted). By adding CBD oil into your daily routine it can add support towards a healthier lifestyle. Here is a section off their website which explains how amazing it can be to help – especially with things like stress and anxiety which I think we are all feeling at the moment.
The Endocannabinoid system (ECS) plays a major role in balancing our bodies’ most important functions from sleep, to mood, to appetite, to bowel movements, and more.
The ECS was discovered in the 1990’s when scientists were researching plant like molecules, cannabinoids, produced by the human body. The ECS’s main role is to maintain bodily homeostasis – biological harmony in response to environmental changes such as physical and mental stress.
Initially, research showed endocannabinoid receptors were only present in the brain and nerves, but have since been found throughout the entire body including our skin. Today we know that the endocannabinoid system is involved in a number of processes including pain, memory, mood, appetite, stress, sleep, metabolism, immune system, and our reproductive function. Endocannabinoids are arguably one of the most widespread and versatile molecules.
Your body naturally produces its own endocannabinoids to support this system, but just like with any other nutrient, we can have a deficiency and may need extra support. This is where cannabis comes in. The cannabis plant produces phytocannabinoids that also interact with your endocannabinoid system.
So there you have it, I know a lot of other people use it for chronic pain as well so I will be letting my mum try some as she has chronic pain and hopefully it will be something that can help her too!
I was also kindly sent this little Cetraben cream (gifted) I use this everyday anyway as myself and my daughter have dry and sensitive skin. Plus Lily has really bad eczema and keeping on top of it is a lot easier when we use this everyday to keep the skin moisturised and feeling good. They are doing a lovely campaign at the moment encouraging people to talk about the issues they have with their skin as we all have them and we should be happy in the skin we are in but also look after that skin in any way we can. #THISISMYSKIN
