Winter is here, cold weather and miserable rainy days. Even though this weather is undesirable, being snuggled up indoors is my happy place. Heating on, favourite shows on tv, cuddles with loved ones, playing games and enjoying comfort food and festive treats.
Comfort food season, is there anything better? Everything about being cosy just makes me happy. Thats why Hygge really suits me because it is all about that vibe. I thought I would share with you some of the ways I get ready for the cosy season.
- Comfy PJ’s
- Heating on
- Festive film on
- Board games out
- Schwartz casserole
- Family time
Family time is really important so something like Schwartz which makes casseroles so easy and quick to make, means you can spend more time with your loved ones. I have tried all of them except the beef one so this is the one I made for a nice change. The first step is so simple lightly fry the beef, carrots and onions then add the Schwartz beef casserole mix and pop in the oven for 2 hours then its done. you can easily get a film in during that time.
Another reason I use Schwartz is you just can’t beat the flavour, most of my food compliments are when I’ve used a little help from my friend Schwartz and people always want more. With my casserole I opted for roasted potatoes, parsnips and some broccoli and sweetcorn. If you don’t have a little one, try adding in some red wine into the casserole to give it some extra flavour and try with with mash and spring greens. I think that will certainly be how I do it next time I cook it.
Home cooked family meals aren’t just food but its sentiment, its what you remember when you’re little. Sitting round the table, coming together as family, eating good food in good company and enjoying every bite. We all really enjoyed this meal, all our plates were clean even Lily’s who’s been really picky with food the last week. You can pick this up in Tesco and see what other ones they do and for 85p you can’t go wrong!
