Before I became lactose intolerant pizza was a very common treat for me. My favourites surprisingly were the Aldi own frozen cheap pizzas. I can’t have those now and I’ve tried a few pizza places in Coventry that do vegan cheese, Pizza hut, dodo pizza and MOD. None of them can compare to Basement Browns and I can guarantee that. This is all my own opinion and preferences but please not the pizza was gifted.
It’s rare you find a really good independent wood fire pizza place in your city. I was so thrilled when I found this place. I spoke to the owner and they put so much care and effort into choosing all their ingredients and if it changes or doesn’t meet up to their standard they change it. All the chicken is fresh pulled chicken, no processed pieces with added water and things. They cater for everyone and offer so many alternatives from veggie chicken, sausage and even chorizo.
The big thing for me is the vegan cheese, it honestly tastes like I’m eating real cheese even though I’m not, the flavour is incredible. The other big thing is it’s such a great place for any mixture of people, family, friends even a work outing. Lily has come with me before and had an individual margarita pizza which she ate half for lunch and then half for dinner and loved it. She was never keen on pizza before that and now she loves it. I’ve also been with my friends and with my niece.
They have deals on all week so you should really check them out if you have a Basement Browns by you, you can get a individual pizza and refillable drink for £5 for lunch or a inbetweener pizza and refillable drink for £7 which is an incredible price.
It really is my new favourite place, I have to stop myself going back so much as I could easily eat it every week!
