My Throwback Favourites | Ad

I have been noticing Neon is back in, everyone seems to be rocking a neon jumper or something and making it look the most fashionable thing ever! We all just seem to be loving the typical retro stuff which just reminds me of my childhood, The Simpsons, Polly Pocket, Barbie and so much more! I was kindly gifted some throwback items from Truffle Shuffle. I was also gifted some tickets for a Spice Girl tribute show called Wannabe. I wanted to do a dedicated post on all the retro things I love and the things that have a special place in my heart. I’m so glad they are all coming back and I know it makes me sound old but I’m a mum now. I’m allowed to be like this! Here are some of my top throwbacks – I may miss some obv ones but you can tell me your faves below and we can reminisce together!

//01 The obvious…Barbie

I absolutely loved Barbie I had a huge draw full under my bed or dolls, cars and accessories. Just everything, I think it really helps with the imagination and role play games as a child growing up and can help them maybe get things off their chest through play unintentionally. Not only was Barbies life the dream, hot guy, cute little dog, open top car and a massive house? Who wouldn’t want that.

I am still rocking some Barbie stuff, I currently have Barbie socks, a t-shirt and now this absolutely gorgeous notebook from Truffle Shuffle.

//02 The Music

Music from when I was younger was THE BEST. We had S club 7, Steps, Spice Girls. There was so much women empowerment going around I just loved it. I am so excited to go along to a Spice Girls tribute show which is showcasing in Coventry at The Albany Theatre on the 16th March. If you live in or near Coventry and fancy a night to let your hair down, sing your heart out and have fun. Then I 100% recommend coming along to this. I am so excited! You can find more out about it here.

//03 The Simpsons

The legendary, my absolute favourite. I have always loved it, have watched every single episode like a true Simpsons addict and I am over the moon there is more march around now as before it was impossible to find anything. Truffle Shuffle have an amazing collection and I 100% plan of having it all, like this Moe’s Tavern Mug only £6.99. One of my favourite memories of when I was little was after a bath, I would get in some comfy PJ’s, have a marmite toastie and sit on the sofa watching the new Simpsons episodes.

I think The Simpsons will always have a place in my heart, I rewatched all the episodes when I was off work when I was pregnant and it just gives me a sense of comfort.

//04 My Little Pony

Another classic, This is 100% one of my favourite toys and made me want to learn horse riding until I saw how big and scary horses look in real life when you are a little girl standing next to them. So I stuck to my My little pony dolls, brushing their hair and taking them in the bath with me so I can wash their hair. I know they have remade it now but the original designs are far better in my opinion, they just look more sweet, innocent and girly. I will 100% be rocking my new My Little Pony socks with the much better original designs.

//05 Polly Pocket

Oh Em Gee. I had so many polly pocket sets. I would lose those tiny little girls all over the place. I loved that it was a cute little heart or flower shape and there was a whole little world inside. I am 100% going to be buying them for Lily when she’s older. I have seen them going on eBay for like 10 times more than they are worth so I hope they come down in price a bit by then!

    Great post! Truffle Shuffle do some awesome nostalgic items. I grew up in the 90s and used to love pop music, one of my favourites was Boyzone.
