Valentines day is coming up and fast, I will be out buying a card for my other half in the next few days. However Galentines day which is on February 13th is becoming ever more popular, it first came about from a TV series called Parks and Recreation (season 2, episode 16 if you are curious). Now I am 100% all about this day, women celebrating women and showing your bestie just how much they mean to you. It is a day all about happiness, appreciation and your gal pal. I was kindly invited to Las Iguanas to try one of their menus which is called The Chica’s Cocktail Club. It fits this day so well and doesn’t disappoint.
With this deal you can get two tapas dishes and 4 cocktails for only £24.95 and with 4 cocktails included you are saving a lot of money on those tasty alcoholic concoctions. Las Iguanas is always a good go to with things like these and the amazing bottomless brunch with unlimited prosecco.
The tapas options are plentiful and even more tasty, just writing this I could do with some of those tasty chicken wings. There is so much you can choose from like cheese and mango empandas, chicken or mushroom quesadilla, chicken wings, pato taquito and so much more. Two tapas meals certainly filled me up. I opted for the chicken wings in a honey peri peri sauce and the Nachos.
A big thing I was pleased about is they let me swap the cheese on the nachos to the vegan cheese so I didn’t have to miss out on one of my favourites. The nacho’s were so tasty, I wasn’t much of a fan of the salsa as I like it a bit more saucey but the guacamole was perfect! The chicken wings, well there are no words. They were perfect, I couldn’t fault them and could do with some right now to be honest. They taste amazing and that is that.
Below is the chicken quesadilla, I didn’t try this but don’t they look super appetising and my partner throughly enjoyed them. We also had the chicken taco’s which weren’t a part of the menu for the Chica’s cocktail club but are on the normal tapas menu and a firm favourite of mine, which is why we couldn’t resist.
Last but not least, what is Galentines Day if not ending with a bit of chocolate with a dessert. You can’t go wrong with freshly made churro’s, soft on the inside with a crunch on the outside, covered in cinnamon sugar and dipped in a gorgeous chocolate ganache. There is nothing better to pair with your cocktails. So going on to the drinks, the cocktails they offer at Las Iguanas has a big variety of flavours and has something for everyone. There is so many to choose from like Vanilla Mai Tai, Long Island Iced Tea, Strawberry Daiquiri, Porn Star Martini and my favourite the Mojito. There is so many more and you can see what is on the Chica’s Cocktail Club here.
I just want to give a massive shoutout to the staff in the Coventry Las Iguanas resturant, they were so lovely, all said hello and goodbye, sat us down quickly and served the meals in record time if you ask me. Paige was our waitress and you couldn’t fault her, she was friendly, attentive and one of the best waitresses I have had in a long time!
