The Perfect Date Night In

As I said in my first post of the year I am not setting definitive goals this year I am just focusing on family, progressing my career at work and my blog and improving my health. I’m not setting strict goals and rules because it will be easier to break them. An important thing we have said we will start doing is having more date nights. With a baby especially date night blur into the background and you start to realise you don’t have much if any one on one time. Which is not good as one on one time and doing things together is an important part of a relationship.

With being on a budget due to nursery fee’s etc, date nights in the form of ‘Netflix and chill’ are the more favoured one. Have a nice meal, put the baby to bed then cuddle up on the sofa and watch a favourite TV show or film. Pair this with some delicious treats and a no phone rule you’ve got yourself a pretty good night.

Now, just because you are trying to save money doesn’t mean you can’t pretend your at the cinema with some gourmet popcorn and sweets. My favourite at the moment is Popcorn Shed salted caramel because basically anything salted caramel is my favourite and it is very moreish and a perfect accompaniment for date night. Popcorn Shed do so many more enticing flavours like Say Cheese and Butterly Nuts. If you are a popcorn lover you need to try it, you will be hooked.

Scott is more of a sweet person than popcorn at the cinema so a great choice for him is the Bebeto sweets, they are super affordable and he loves laces and they have them in awesome flavours like the classic strawberry and my favourite raspberry. I have also seen since our last purchase they now do the berries which are my all time favourite sweet and I hope I spot them soon so I can stock up. I was kindly gifted these items to try and have since and will be repurchasing them.

Top 10 things to watch on Netflix for date night:

  1. We’re The Millers
  2. Bad Neighbours
  3. Hitch
  4. Hot Fuzz
  5. The Breakfast Club
  6. Sex Tape
  7. A Million Ways To Die In The West
  8. Sherlock Holmes
  9. Identity Thief
  10. Ride Along

I absolutely love spending time with my hubby and curling up on the sofa watching Netflix – we're often too busy to do that on a normal day! In terms of budget date nights… I love going out for a walk in the countryside!Lizzie // Hello Lizzie Bee

My favourite budget date night/day is going into the woods for a walk or a country park like Coombe. Nature makes me feel so happy and to share that feeling with my partner is great. Follow it with a Netflix night and pretzels and I'm definitely happy.Need to get my hands on some popcorn shed popcorn though, especially the cheese flavour!! Sounds heavenly.GemmaWww.justgem.co.uk
