This year hasn’t really gone particularly fast or slow, I have had highs and lows and a lot has happened. One of the constants in this year has been Lily and Scott, they are my rock and my family I don’t know what I would do without them. I love my little family unit we have created, just need to expand it in a few years!
I feel this year has been quite successful in a way but I seriously haven’t stopped, one thing I will be focusing more on next year is balance and learning to switch off. I will be working on quality over quantity but will be trying to be consistent in all areas of my life.
One thing that has changed this year is friends, I had an unfortunate time where some people entered my life this year who were ‘fake’ friends as you might say. They made my anxiety bad, built me up and just dropped me like a sack of s**t. This does happen sometimes and its made me feel more closed off to letting people in especially now when those people are entering my daughters life too. To be honest, I am glad they aren’t in my life anymore, there was so much negativity and I am so much more positive now.
On the plus side I have made some amazing blogger friends through the Coventry Bloggers group I founded. I started the group in December last year so it is a year old, it’s my baby and my it has grown, I’ve made some really close friends from it and it’s so nice to have friends who you share those interests and hobbies with. If we go out for a meal we are all standing up in weird positions getting the best photo. No judgement and it’s amazing. I feel like I’ve made a lovely community and some people have said how much I and my group have helped their confidence and love for blogging. It has also helped me give some local bloggers their first experience at going to events. And if I say so, it’s a really nice feeling.
Founding and running the Coventry blogger group is certainly one of my biggest achievements this year. Blogging isn’t about the free stuff and the events, yes they are a good part of the lifestyle but finding the community and your people is the best!
In April I went back to work from maternity leave, going back wasn’t the best as you know spending every day with your little human you created is the best part of life and parenthood but you need to go back to the real world if you want to pay bills and keep the supply of marmite and crackers in the cupboard. I do have a sense of purpose in my role and will be looking for a promotion in the next year. That’s my plan anyway, I do enjoy my work and again have met some amazing people there who I couldn’t be without now like my lovely friend Emma who started her own blog How To Emma.
A few health issues have arose this year which I will be tackling head on with specific counselling and healthy living to help and manage those, nothing I will be going into detail until I am starting to recover and can share my journey to the better side of it.
Blogging this year has been crazy, I have had awesome collaborations, amazing offers and work and my blog and following is just growing more and more. I am so grateful and really appreciate you guys still reading/watching my stuff! I will be focusing on the same next year. I have a different view of where I want my blog to go but it will take work and time but I know I will get there.
I have started to upload more and I would say regularly but it’s not that regular, but you can see vlogs, hauls and upcoming exciting videos on my channel here. Another amazing opportunity I carried on with this year is to start contributing to Coventry Live my local paper again but online, please go read and share my articles! I did a hilarious post about parents thoughts on kids tv shows.
This year has certainly been eventful but I feel I have grown a lot as a person and certainly developed a thicker skin (not sure if that is a good thing) Please let me know how your year has been and what has your highlight been? Tell me in the comments below.
