Sleeping Beauty | Belgrade Theatre

I honestly cannot remember the last time I saw a Pantomime, I was probably about 12 years old. I wanted to go last year but I just didn’t find the time. I wasn’t sure what to expect, seeing a show like this as an adult is extremely different to seeing it as a child. As a child you would just see the funny parts, the storyline we know so well and amazing singing.

As an adult you see it differently, you still see all those things but there are some cheeky jokes and references that you just wouldn’t realise as a child. It would go over your head, but as an adult. They. Are. Hilarious.

The Sleeping Beauty show which is currently on at Belgrade theatre and showing until the 5th January 2019 was amazing. I throughly enjoyed it, it focused on the Nanny and Jester which you can see pictured above. They had amazing banter which shone through their performance. Even when they messed up on a line, they made it funny. They really engaged with the audience in a light hearted way and made it fun for everyone.

They made the show for me and I would happily go back and see the whole thing again just to watch those two. The expected main character of the show was of course Sleeping Beauty, she was lovely to watch but I enjoyed the others more, she was very quiet and it was hard to hear her.

The stage, the costumes and everything was just amazing, if you live in or close to Coventry I highly recommend going to see this. You will not be disappointed. Buy tickets here. They said at the end of the show that they will be coming back next year to do Puss in boots, I cannot wait for this and will definitely be taking Lily with me then. I doubt she would sit through it at the moment and being 1 and a half, plus there are some bits that may scare her.

Have you been to the pantomime lately? What would you love to see? Let me know in the comments below.

I have to be honest and say I'm not a massive fan of pantos! I don't know what it is, they just make me cringe to be honest. 🙁 I remember when I was with my ex I'd be dragged to them for the 5 years I spent Christmas with him as his mom would always book me a ticket! xDI love though that pantos still happen as they're so great for school children to go to with friends, families go and even adults like ourselves! :D

I’ve been to see another local Panto last night, and it seems so different to this one! This looks likes it was loud and full of fun! I loved Cinderella last year, and am sad that I don’t get to see this one!EmilyBlog; Etyler.wordpress.comInsta; @coventrylifeTwitter; @lifecoventry
