The Sun Is Also A Star | Book Review

For the last year I’ve been trying so hard to get back into reading, I’ve picked a few books up, borrowed some off family but none have caught my attention. I want that book where you escape reality and live through the characters, start reading and then before you know it you’re 100 pages in because you are just so infused in the story.

Finally I’ve found a book that’s done that for me and I finished it in 6 days which is amazing for me having a full time job and a baby. So ‘The Sun Is Also A Star’ by Nicola Yoon saved my reading drought and reignited my passion for getting lost in a good book.

It’s about a boy and a girl and also the universe. There are side characters and the way it is written tells you so much more about what’s happening in depth. This captivating story is told by several amazing voices of each characters that come into the book. You can see through their own eyes why they do the things they do and what drives them through this rollercoaster of a day.

The main characters Natasha and Daniel are destined to find each other it seems. They have a very intense and eventful day which changes their lives and changes their perception of the world around them. I couldn’t help empathise with them too and start to think about the things that

Although it’s not a ‘typical’ happily ever after it still made me well up at the end and everything fell into place for my questions in my head. I feel like I’ve been living under a rock, the author Nicola Yoon also wrote a book called ‘Everything, Everything’. This has also been made into a film and I haven’t heard of it but apparently it was really popular so I need to catch up and give this a go.

If you do like a bit of romance and want to get whisked away into a world of love with a realistic take then give this book a go.
