Coventry has so much to offer but is really lacking on the online promotions, social media and blogging front. I saw this gap and thought, I can do this. I started an online community of bloggers located in and close to Coventry. Most of them didn’t even know there were other bloggers in the city and now we have over 50 members and a lot of events planned and in process of being set up. It’s been a huge success. My first blogging event went ahead with Samoan Joes. A local tiki bar.
Not only is the decor and drinks to die for the atmosphere is just perfection. Normally when I go out, I’m self conscious and feel like I look off and just feel crappy most of the night. All the staff at Samoan Joes are so welcoming, lovely and easy to get on with. You can tell they really care about their customers visit, you don’t just get a bog standard boring glass, they have beautiful and unique tiki inspired glasses for the cocktails which just gives that little bit of extra effort.
As for the cocktails, I couldn’t not try my ultimate favourite, the mojito. They did not disappoint, it was fresh, well made and so refreshing. One thing that I was quite pleased with behind the bar was how clean and tidy it was! (Such a mum thing to say) Some bars just look dirty but all the fruit looked fresh and tasted nice! My second cocktail was Blue Kamikaze, I always love anything with blue curacao despite turning my tongue blue. It was as expected perfection. I’m gutted I didn’t get chance to try the Pina Colada which comes in a coconut shell with some pineapple on but there is always next time! I’ve tried cocktails at a few different places in Coventry but Samoan Joe’s has certainly stood out for me. I will be going back soon I’m sure.
