It’s Okay To Have A Bad Day

As of late I have certainly been having more bad days than good. I’ve been stuck in a rut and this blooming British snow craziness hasn’t helped. Why are we so useless as soon as we see snowflakes. We rush to get storm bread and milk even though we can still leave the house. Meanwhile in Canada they are laughing at us and still go about their daily life in 3 foot of snow. We certainly need to be more prepared or not act like the world will end when we have a little blanket of snow. I mean I don’t like being out in snow too much especially when it’s icy but that is purely because Bambi must be my spirit animal and I’m pretty sure I have ended up on my ass each time I’ve been out in snow/ice.

I want to stop this rut I’m in, put on my positive pants and put things in motion. A major thing that has got me down is as I haven’t felt great I’ve gone off plan (on Slimming World). I know when I go back I will most likely have a gain and it causes me to spiral but I know if I don’t go back it will only get worse. So I need to grab my lady balls and just deal with it, draw a line under it and move on. Get back on plan and watch the pounds melt away.

If you are feeling down, sometimes you just need to feel it and I can relate very much as my recent feelings have coincided with this. Sometimes you need the down days to appreciate the good days. You need to feel upset or annoyed and then deal with it rather than push it down, ignore it and make things worse for yourself. I hear a lot of people say ‘I’m not going to tell you to have a good day, just have a day’. This speaks to me because you just need to get through those 24 hours and look forward to the next day and starting anew. So if you are having a bad day, have it.

Here are a few things that slightly get me through those days a bit easier.

  1. Have a long hug with your loved one (boyfriend, girlfriend, mum or best friend)
  2. Eat some chocolate (in moderation as I have been moaning about this in the top of the post. I need self control)
  3. Reach out, speak to a friend. Tell them how you feel, letting it out can really lift some of the weight pulling you down.
  4. Drink plenty of water
  5. Read
  6. Have a bath
  7. Look after yourself

What do you do to get through the bad days? Let me know in the comments below, we can all help each other.

If ive had a bad day, there's nothing better than having a hot bath to relax me!

Dcertainly agree! Iโ€™ve not been able to have a bath for a while from toe surgery and I am finally allowed again. Helping with bad days!

On bad days I will change my bedsheets and open my bedroom window for a short while (as anything more is too cold). It makes me feel like I am having a fresh start.

I seem to be having a bad week, or maybe a bad fortnight… But I've still not given myself time to recover. That's what these few weekends are all going to be about! Look after yourself ๐Ÿ™‚

This is something that I blogged about recently because I think it's so important to realise our feelings and not suppressing them. It's another reason why I hate all of the "fake positivity" floating around in the blogging community – we should stop viewing our bad days as bad things, they help us grow!I just let the bad day happen and spend it in bed watching anime.Lizzie Bee // Hello Lizzie Bee

Yes I 100% agree. We need to feel it. Days in bed watching tv is a very good way to deal with it. I normally end up doing this! ๐Ÿ™‚ xx
