Five Things To Do On Sunday

Sundays are most peoples favourite days. It’s a day of rest, relaxation and preparation for the week ahead. I’m really trying to cut down on stress at the moment and one of the things that stress me out more than anything else is work. I find that you can really make your upcoming week easier and more peaceful by opting to do these things to prepare.

1. Plan your meals & Prepare early

When you get home from a long day at work sometimes you won’t feel like deciding what you want for dinner, checking you have everything, nipping to the shop if needed then making it. If you are like me you would rather just get a take away, which isn’t the best idea. Planning what meals you are going to have for the week ahead even if you don’t choose the days can make a massive difference. Then you can have leftovers as lunch to save money. You can also make sure you are opting for healthier choices to give yourself all the nutrition and energy you need. You don’t need to cook all of your meals if you don’t want to, but you could take 30-mins to an hour, pre chop onions, vegetables make a basic sauce if needed and either freeze or refrigerate them. Then when you get home you know exactly what your doing and what you need to do.

2. Meditation

I have been doing this a lot more recently. I’ve found with being pregnant I want to control my stress and worry as I tend to get stressed very easily which isn’t good for me or the baby. I’ve been using the app headspace which is a really good starting point if you’re new to it or want to try it out. They even have specific sections if you want to focus on a certain area like pregnancy, anxiety or relationships. There is loads to choose from and if you are pregnant like me, there is a mindfulness in pregnancy book which I believe is from the same creator of headspace. It really keeps you grounded and focused. A great way to start the week ahead.

3. Go on a bike ride

Exercise is great for you and can make you feel happy with endorphins. It’s also great to get outside, ideally you would be in a park surrounded by green tree’s and flowers and pretty things rather than just grey boring streets. If you don’t have a bike you can always find cheap ones about and bike discount sites.

4. Pamper yourself

Nothing makes me feel more confident and ready for the day than feeling fresh, nails done, hair looking on point and being comfortable in my own skin. From experience I feel a lot more alert and ready to take on the day if I’m dressed nicely, got my war paint (make up) on rather then just putting powder, blusher and a big hoodie on. It makes me feel lazy and frumpy and just want to get the day over with. So put yourself first, take a long bath or shower, use a face mask and paint those nails!

5. Do what you love

Whether thats writing, colouring or baking. Do something you really enjoy and that puts a smile on your face. For me it really depends on my mood, some days all I want to do is bake some cookies with Scott and some days I want to relax with my laptop and just write some blog posts. Taking time to focus on you and what you enjoy can lift your mood and put you in the right mindset to tackle the week ahead.

Prepping for the next week on Sundays makes the next week so much better! I loved this post, Sunday is most definitely my favourite day, I always try to make sure I have a bit of a pamper, and it's the only day I don't set my alarm.Great post x

Sunday is actually one of my busiest days of the week! My boyfriend works most Sundays, so I have to get up early to drop him off. If I'm not at work, I'm sat on my laptop doing my volunteer work for a local WI. We normally have a family Sunday dinner every week too, so I usually head to my mum's quite early to help cook and tidy, but if I get a spare minute, I usually write a blog post or do a bit of cross stitching.Olivia – The Northernist x
