A new season bring new trends, prints and style. Nothing makes a flat feel more cosy and like a home than decorating and getting some new decor. I seem to get really stressed when the place is a mess and untidy. You know what they say, a clear room keeps a clear mind. This really is true, I feel so much more relaxed and just able to sit and have a cuppa while watching tv without having to worry about things.
A few key items can really bring a room together and you don’t need a lot of money. I took £50, picked up some bits and it transformed my living room. First of all, I nipped to Ikea, I grabbed a few cushions and cushion covers, same colour scheme but different patterns to mix it up. I put them on a leather storage seat which before then was very bland and just blended into the wall.
Next to that I got a faux plant, so I don’t have to worry about killing it and a lamp. The lamp was so inexpensive, I think about £11 overall. It’s got a large bulb where you can see the filament, so it gives a more edgy look. In the summer as you have lighter evenings, you don’t need the ceiling light on and this just makes it cosy.
On the other side of the room, on my unit, which again was very bland and boring, I got some cheap frames to add to my little frame wall collection, the rose gold ones. I also picked up these cute plants from B&Q, they were £6 each, not the cheapest, but the glass jar and pot are different and brings some life into the room.
A new season needs a new vibe. Go and grab a few key items and make over your living space. This project was organised by Ocean Loans to help people give their home a bit of TLC this summer.
