While I’m currently on a budget, finding quick and cheaper alternatives are very handy. I love coffee, I am a coffee snob as some people will say and my current favourite is a soy vanilla iced coffee. When you go to coffee shops they can range from about £2.50 – £3.50 which, let’s face it, is pretty expensive.
So I thought about how I could make this cheaper and cut down on some costs. Now, coffee itself is about £4 but that is with about 20 uses. I normally go for Nescafe Azera Espresso and you can pick it up at pretty much any supermarket. Then pick up a bag of Ice, normally about £1 and some Alpro Soya Vanilla flavoured milk which is about £2. That does come to about £7 overall, but you could easily do about 6-7 drinks with that.
So, only 3 ingredients, azera espresso coffee (or whichever coffee you prefer), soy vanilla milk and some ice.
Fill up your glass with ice, pretty much to the top. Pour in the soya vanilla milk about three quarters of the way full. Put the kettle on and put two teaspoons of your coffee into a separate mug/cup.
Once boiled, put the hot water into the mug with the coffee in but only about 2 shots worth. So only fill it about a fifth of the way. Stir well and then pour the coffee into the milk.
As simple as that. Let me know in the comments below if you tried it and also if you have any other good coffee ideas!
