So we’ve past the half way point in the year and I’m sure like most of you some of my new year resolutions have not sticked. Losing weight, reading more, saving money, I could go on.
I guess passing the half way point and not reaching goals is a bit of a motivation boost to some. Others can be like ‘Oh I’ll just wait till next year and start again’. Don’t do it! Don’t postpone and procrastinate, I am like the procrastination queen but I’ve noticed while having a pretty awful 2 weeks I need to look after myself.
I feel like I’ve really improved in the last month and I want to continue and also add a few extra goals.
1. Get Fit & Drop Some Pounds.
I don’t want to say I’m ‘losing weight’, I have no intention of finding it again but I also don’t want to give myself pressure. I’m making better decisions with my eating habits. Cutting out some bad stuff but keeping an occasional treat and doing some exercise so that I can start shifting some of this excess I’ve accumulated. I’m aiming to drop at least 1 dress size by the end of the year.
2. Look After Myself (mentally/emotionally)
In the last month I’ve been letting stress get to me and getting myself worked up over nothing really. I have had some major family issues including restraining orders and cancer diagnoses. All this stress built up and I had a panic attack at work, it was one of the worst experiences I’ve had and I don’t want to encourage another. I’ve started doing yoga and mediation which has really helped. I downloaded the apps focus, relax full and serenity. So I’m hoping to get to my old care free and happy calm self. I feel miles better already to be honest and haven’t been doing it that long.
3. Saving Money & Move Out
I have started some savings with Scott and we are close to our goal so the end of the year I should hopefully on my way to start looking for some flats to move in with him. I feel very restricted at home, my family and me are very different and it causes arguments and conflict, which doesn’t help when I’m trying to reduce stress. I also feel my health will massively improve, I’m allergic to cats and live with them, I do love them but my allergies seem to get worse certain times and I just feel like shit. I also don’t like being around cigarette smoke, with chronic asthma it’s a major health issue and when I move out I won’t have this. I will have freedoms independence and improvements on most things.
4. Keep Up With Skincare
I have never been the best when keeping up with a skincare routine, when I’m feeling sluggish I will just resort to using some baby wipes to take my make up off and leave it at that. I went out a brought some bits and bobs and I’m trying to keep to a routine at the moment, so I’m hoping to stick to it and I would like to so come winter, my skin doesn’t give up on me and become a spot warzone. I will be doing a haul at some point after trialing them a bit more.
