Top 5: Ways to Spend your lunch break

Go for a stroll

Sometimes after eating your lunch, ideally not something super filling and carby, it’s nice to just have a wander. Now the weather is getting nicer and the sun is showing itself a bit more, I feel really content just going for a 20-30 minute walk, maybe listening to some upbeat music. You don’t have to do a fast walk and get all sweaty, you don’t wanna go back to work smelling. It’ll help you get some light exercise in during the day too.

Yoga

Now some of us work in an office or at home, it all varies. If you can, doing some yoga for 20 minutes out of your lunch break could really help de-stress and relax you for the afternoon. You could get a few of your colleagues and meet once a week if there is a spare office or room that isn’t used? Maybe make it a lunch time club. You can find yoga workouts online, I of course always mention Tara Stiles, search her on YouTube. She gives light workouts to do, you could do that, get changed then sit and have your lunch. It could help you forget if you’ve had a particularly stressful morning.

Call & Catch up

As we get older, work and commitments get in the way of some real girl time, plan ahead so your lunches match up. Have a long chat on the phone or even grab a coffee if you work close. Have a catch up and a laugh, get those endorphins going!

Read

Sometimes it is nice to just escape in a book. Grab a coffee, settle down and get through a good chapter or two, depending on how fast you read. I’m currently reading Gone Girl and I love reading on my break, need to keep an eye on the time though! Don’t want to get to into it and be late!

Go out to eat
A lot of us, myself included have a pretty set lunch we will take to work. Mine is normally microwave rice or salad. It’s nice to mix it up and make a change. Plan with one of your colleagues and go to a near by restaurant and have a proper meal. It’ll give you time to chat and discuss the morning you’ve had. You can also have an extra 2 minutes in bed as you won’t need to make your lunch, bonus!

So theres a few ideas. What do you do on your lunch? Anything interesting, let me know in the comments below.
